The Orginial PickUp Pad

The original pickup truck bike hauler pad for late-model trucks with rear-view cameras. Trailhead commute or gravity shuttle duty, no bike rack compares to the convenience of a Dakine Pickup Pad™. The DLX pad fits modern tailgates with backup cameras. The large model works best on full-size tailgate designs and has tie-downs for up to seven bikes. The small fits midsize truck tailgates and has tie-downs for up to five bikes. A built-in security grommet lets you lock it to your truck. We've stiffened the ends of the webbing straps for easy installation under the tailgate and added cam-action buckles for quick removal.

I love the tailgate pad

I love the tailgate pad and feel it was worth every penny over competitor brands at half the price. I like the look and functionality, the microfiber on the paint side and security grommet are a nice feature. For me, it's an elegant solution for carpooling to rides with riders whose bikes have skewer wheels and/or through axles. My other bike rack does not have that versatility nor the capacity (2 bikes vs. 5 straps on the Pickup Pad.

2018 Silverado

It seems really solid but why doesn’t it lay flat to the tailgate? The center to cinch straps seem to make it bow out in the middle. Is it supposed to lay flat or did I do something wrong? Help dakine!

Great pad, better without truck cap

Excellent pad. Works as advertised. The only bummer is that the flap (when open so I can use my backup camera) interferes with closing my truck cap. Aside from that, it fits great.

Works perfect

Great construction and materials, does exactly what it’s supposed to do on my ‘11 Nissan Titan. The new straps and latching mechanism so they don’t get loose is well done.

Is it true that this pad is only 30 inches wide. That's just hard to believe when a Tacoma tailgate is 54 inches wide.

I’ve purchased the Dakine DLX curved tailgate pad. It is advertised as fitting the new curved Ram tailgates. I expected the top to be curved & form fitting the tailgate…….It does not! You can pull it into place, but looks terrible…will not have it on my $80,000 pickup. Does Dakine make a cover that will fit my tailgate correctly? Thanks…..Bob

I never received a response from my last question?? Why do you advertise the DLX. CURVED COVER as fitting the Ram curved tailgate……It does not…..returned my DLX cover…… terrible fit…. Wouldn’t have it on my new truck….Very disappointed!!
